Chiang Mai University (CMU) Faculty of Science researchers won a Bronze Medal at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.

𝑪𝑴𝑼 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝑾𝒊𝒏 𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒛𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑬𝒙𝒉𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒂, 𝑺𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒛𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅

The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thapanee Sarakonsri and her team of inventors for winning a Bronze Medal at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held from 9 to 13 April 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thapanee presented the invention "Highly porous carbon and nano silicon-based materials from biomass for use as anode materials in lithium- and sodium-ion batteries." The invention leverages the natural abundance and sustainability of biomass to produce materials with high surface area, excellent conductivity, and superior electrochemical performance.

This achievement highlights the potential of CMU researchers, strengthens the global recognition of Thai innovations, and fosters the growth of the university’s innovation ecosystem.
