The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thapanee Sarakonsri and her team of inventors for winning a Bronze Medal at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held from 9 to 13 April 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thapanee presented the invention "Highly porous carbon and nano silicon-based materials from biomass for use as anode materials in lithium- and sodium-ion batteries." The invention leverages the natural abundance and sustainability of biomass to produce materials with high surface area, excellent conductivity, and superior electrochemical performance.
This achievement highlights the potential of CMU researchers, strengthens the global recognition of Thai innovations, and fosters the growth of the university’s innovation ecosystem.
