CMU Chemistry faculties receive The Murata Science Foundation research grants

Congratulations to CMU Chemistry faculties who receive prestigious research grants from The Murata Science Foundation.


Dr. Apinun Kanpiengjai and Dr. Saranphong Yimklan are two Chemistry faculties to receive the research grant from Murata Science Foundation, join 8 others to receive the recognition this year.


Dr. Kanpiengjai will develop a local wisdom Miang tea via enzymatic treatment. His group will use their biotechnology mastery to improve antioxidant activity and the release of gallated catechins.


Dr. Yimklan will use his expertise in inorganic chemistry and crystallography to functionalize aluminum metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) from wastes to solve the energy storage problem, specifically, anode materials in lithium-ion batteries.
