Physical Chemistry
Research in the Physical Chemistry Division bridges two synergistic frontiers: advanced functional materials and computational chemistry. We experimentally investigate structure–processing–property–performance relationships, specializing in the interfacial engineering of (bio)polymers, carbon materials, and semiconductor catalysts for healthcare, electronics, energy, and environmental technologies. Concurrently, we employ molecular modeling and quantum simulations to elucidate chemical phenomena at the atomic scale. By integrating experiment with theory, our research drives mechanistic breakthroughs and accelerates the discovery of novel materials.
